CÁCH CẮT MÓNG CHO MÈO

Why should you trim your cat's nails?

Trimming your cat's nails is an important part of your pet's health and hygiene. Here are simple steps to help you trim your cat's nails safely:

1. Prepare tools:

You will need a pair of nail clippers specifically designed for cats, which can be purchased at pet stores. Make sure they are sharp and clean.

2, Choose the right time:

Trim your cat's nails when it is relaxed or after it has been playing, as this will cause less resistance.

3. Get your cat used to having its paws touched:

Before trimming, take a few days to get your cat used to you touching its feet and stroking its nails. This will help it feel more comfortable with you touching its feet.

4, Gently grasp the foot:

When your cat is ready, gently grasp the paw and press lightly on the pad to extend the nail.

5, Determine the part to cut:

Cats have a “living” part called the “quick” that contains blood vessels and nerves. This part is usually pink and is easily seen in clear nails. Avoid cutting into this part as it can cause pain and bleeding. Only cut the white part at the tip.

6, Cut each nail gently:

Using nail clippers, cut a little at a time, avoiding cutting too far down. If your cat’s nails are very long, you may want to cut a small section off first, then trim more after a few days.

7, Praise and reward the cat:

After trimming, praise your cat and give them a treat or their favorite toy. This helps your cat associate nail trimming with positive experiences.

8, Check and handle if there is a problem:

If you accidentally cut the middle part of your nail and cause bleeding, use styptic powder or cornstarch to apply to the wound and help stop the bleeding.

Note that if you feel unsure or the cat is too difficult to handle, you should seek help from a veterinarian or professional.
